Five Reasons Why We Keep Living

1. Hope – Knowing that there is a possibility that life would turn around and change for the better, the possibility that there will be more happiness then suffering in ones’ life as it often doesn’t seem so and the possibility that there is more after life.

2. Distractions – Being able to forget about the outside world from time to time. They are the Sex, Drugs and Rock n’ Roll of life. Movies, computer games, music, sport, TV, motorbikes, the internet, reading philosophy blogs, cars, doing laundry, buying things you don’t really need, going to school/work, eating, sleeping, and even love.

3. Ignorance – Not knowing that life sucks. Basically being under the age of 10 automatically grants you this ultimate ability.

4. Death – When you don’t have to put up with the shit anymore unless of course you’re wrong about what life is, was, or can be.

5. Oh and did I mention sex, drugs and rock n’ roll?

Though these things can be seen as the best things is life it is quiet strange how they can contradict themselves. Death can be seen as the final and best thing that you can do becasue everything is just done and it takes ages to complete. However after death how can you have any of the other 4 things? Religious people believe that you either go to some kind of heaven or hell or you re-incarnate. However, non-religuous people think that you will ust die and thats it. So then how can those people have the other 4 things which are best in life?

They do not contradict themselves. Although it may not be possible to experience the other four "things" after death, it is quite possible to experience them before death.

The post has been well articulated to be read on several different levels for the purpose of humour, entertainment, and sparking thinking.

This quality may have appeared to some as contradictions or logical flaws in the post.

None the less, thank you for commenting.
